Thesis Title: Direction of Arrival Estimation Using Beamforming
About
Beamforming is one of the most popular and reliable techniques for Direction of Arrival Estimation of a signal. It has found numerous applications in radar, sonar, seismology, wireless communications, radioastronomy, speech, acoustics, and biomedicine. Adaptive beamforming is used to detect and estimate the signal-of-interest at the output of a sensor array by means of data-adaptive spatial filtering and interference rejection.
Various beamforming techniques such as delay and sum beamformer, tapered delay and sum beamformer, linearly constrained minimum variance beamformers have been discussed in this thesis.
A novel approach for the direction of arrival estimation of wideband signals has also been explored with a great degree of success.
