About

My dissertation, Arabicizing, Privileges, and Liturgy in Medieval Castilian Toledo: The Problems and Mutations of Mozarab Identification (1085-1436), examines the historical—and problematizes the historiographical—identifications of Mozarabs, Christians with lineal roots in al-Andalus (Muslim-ruled Iberia).
The quality and quantity of surviving documents make Castilian Toledo an ideal focal point, and my conclusions are greatly strengthened by incorporating comparative research from broader Iberia, Norman Sicily and Latin Jerusalem.

In Fall 2012 I will join the History Department at Saint Mary's University in San Antonio.
